Abstract

The UCLA campus has a long history of accessible construction, yet finding a fully accessible path can still be a challenge. Up to now this has largely been a process of individual trial and error. In addition to people who use wheelchairs, those who are blind or have low vision also face challenges when navigating the campus. Leveraging GIS data from Facilities Management, we are creating a web app map including the added details needed for accessible travel. The map will ultimately be crowdsourced with curation, allowing users to comment or add new data points, if the changing campus environment requires.
